Do these people not read the notes that precede these questions? The answer is clearly there for anyone to read:Auschwitz (Oswiecim) approx. 60Km west of Krakow,in eastern Upper Silesia (Southern Poland.

auschwitz was infact located in poland. approx. 60Km west of Krakow,in Southern Poland. auschwitz was split up into 3 main camps: auschwitz I, auschwitz II (birkenau), and auschwitz 3(monowitz). many innocent people were killed.

Thank you, appreciate your help. I knew it was in Poland and west of Krakow but cannot find it on any map so was just curious as I am going there soon. To "Up Yours", just went through the Hanoi Hilton Prison (alone) because I had friends there AND my husband was an officer in the Air Force flying B-17's during World War II AND my family and I were very very very proud to be at the Dedication of the World War II monument, seated in Section 1...May 29, 2004.
