AND TAKE CARE OF A FERRET LIKE IT IS A CHILD IT NEEDS ALOT OF LOVE AND TIME? CHRILDEN MAYBE DUE TO THE FACT THAT FERRETS ARE PLAYFUL AND SOMETIMES AGGRESSIVE AND BITE SO THAT WOULD BE UP TO YOU

a ferret is not a good pet for very young children that don't know how to take care of it because they aren't as forgiving as cats or dogs.If a child hurts them then you can count on the ferret being aggressive towards the child. You should always supervise young children when around your ferret. you should give your ferret lots of attention and a clean environment. You can give your ferret veggies but not too much.

Ferrets don't seem much trouble, but they do demand A LOT of attention all through the day, from their diet to exercise. Their have very strict diets and are very active, and may bite and actually become depressed if they aren't taken care of.
You may want to reconsider a ferret, as hard as it may be.

ferrets really like to explore so before getting one or letting one you need to ferret proof the rooms you will let them run around in. ferrets are flexible enough to squeeze under the tightest spaces   i had one go under my refrigerator so make sure to cover up spaces such as that

Ferrets can be a lot of trouble! i know this because my sister has 3 ferrets. Well they are sometimes bad and other times good. You need to clean their cage every day, make sure they have food and clean water. i would also get some cat toys because ferrets are just like cats. They eat cat food, they use cat litter, play with cat toys, the only difference is they dont use a litter box. They love to play! You can not keep them locked up in a cage all day or else when they come out they will be really hiper and bite

Ferrets are friendly little weasels who love to play in the bathtub and are furry and cute. My family has been getting kittens for years I'm quite tired of the same type of pet. Don't get me wrong, kittens are the cutest things in the world, but ferrets look cute even when their adults! I know they don't live very long, but I want one so bad, I need a new friend. Anybody, have any information on how to take care of a ferret before I buy one, please email me at lovelyverbgurl@aim.com

Where are they 8 dollars?  Mine was over a hundred.   However, they are more work than most people realize.  They have cat tendencies with dog like personalities.  They are not the pet for you if you cannot make your room ferret-proof and let them spend a minimum of 3 hours outside of their cage each day.  They must have toys, adequate bedding, and litter and food.  Plus shots.

Ferrets are alot of work. I reccomend researching ALOT on google and buying the book "Ferrets For Dummies". Also go to www.hamsterific.com/BBS. On the "Other Pets" section an extremely knowlegable member, Pig Podge, wrote a Basic Care sheet. Good luck

As for the $8 ferrets, I would not buy one. If a store/breeder can sell them for that little there must be somthing wrong. One of my many ferrets (I have 13), the most unexpencive one, was $75 from a Rescue and thats a deal. $8 is crazy.

WEll i just got a ferret recently and she is very smart. Tell your mother that ferrets are smart beings. They can be litter trained as well. And you can teach them tricks. It took my mother a while to agree but i guess 'cause i gave her the, "my birthday is in like two weeks. And of course show your mother that you are responsible. I have two kittens and I take the best of care with them. Just let her know that you can be responsible, and you have the time, and give her some examples of how you are responsible. It worked for me :D.

ferrets are alot of work and responsibility and it hurts alot to lose one if your parents say no try to respect that for now introduce your parents to them slowly find a friend who has one and so forth i had to move out before i could get one now I'm back at "mommas house" with 4 ferrets 3 are sickly cuz i just rescued them if you just want one cuz they seem cool...think hard on it and look into it more study them learn everything if you truly do love ferrets....wait till your older and have your own income to support them yes they do cost alot to keep so please take the time your future ferret deserves and study them i own a pet shop now after all the years and take heed that if someone who sells animals is telling you not to buy one...maybe you shouldn't but just do your home work please for the sake of you...your family...and your future ferret

I think you should right a paper with where you would put the ferret and a TON! of info as well as do chores or extra stuff and be nice and if all fails calmly continue to ask who knows they may give in so dont give up. P.S. PLEASE post the name of the place that sells them for only $8.00 Thank you

dear kelsea,
your mom is right about ferrets being a lot of money.Ferrets also take a lot of time and hard work to take care of.So think twice before getting a ferret. But if you really want a ferret show your mom how responsible you can be and make sure that when you get a ferret that you make a schedule on how to take care of your ferret.I heard that you have to spend four hours playing with your ferret to keep it healthy. And don't forget cleaning, feeding, and watering.Just make sure you have enough time on your hands to look after your ferret.

Dude Ferrets are around $118.00 dollars not $8.00, also ferrets are not a trouble they sleep 16-18 hours a day but the 4-6 hours that they are awake they are super hyper active (at least mine is). The best part is like a cat they can be litter trained plus ferrets are easily amused so entertaining it is not a problem.(I find ferrets alot better than cats or dogs)

if you want to convince ur mom you could (a) rearange ur room show her were u would put the cage and spend lots of time with it tell her u will allways close ur door so he cant get out (b) research as much as u can and tell her every thing about them such as they are great with cats and dogs... that if they try and bite grab there scruff and they will yawn and settle down
(c)you could allways beg her alot
