HOw do i wire from an existing power source line into an outlet, then to a wall switch that will turn on and off a light ? I have tapped into the power source, run the romex down to the outlet then from the outlet to the switch, then from the switch to the light....but when i turn on the power there is no power going through the whole system...i dont think i have the wires hooked up correctly.....can someone tell me how to hook up all the black, white and ground wires so that the whole circuit works ?
ON the original power source romex line that I tapped into, there is a prior light source which i installed . The power then continues from the light source and contines the circuit.....

"hot" black, and "neutral" white from existing source to 1st outlet brass screw "black" silver screw "white". then at switch, "black" to either screw and then again "black" to either screw, and the two whites splice and continue to the light. at the light splice white to white and black to black or other color. if this doesnt work test you have power at source.
