I have a 1991 dodge spirit and the lifter on cylinder number one is going bad does any  body have any advice or know how to repair the lifter???

You need to change the lifter.

try putting a pint of marvil mystery oil in the crank case. drive the car until it reaches operating temp about 50 miles or so. drain the oil add oil and oil filter it might help
