They are sexually mature at 6 months although it is advised to wait awhile after that untill they are more grown up. Also you shouldn't breed him for the first time with a female who is breeding for the first time.

WE DO NOT NEED ANYMORE BACKYARD BREEDERS!!!  If you aren't going to put the effort into learning all about genetics, learning about conformation, gamness, stability, and temperment, then you SHOULDN'T BE BREEDING YOUR DOGS!!!! Sure you may (or may not) make a few bucks but you are slowly breeding out the good traits that have made the pit bull what it is.  LEAVE THE BREEDING TO WELL EDUCATED, RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE.  AT LEAST THEY KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BREED AND BREAD!

Dogs In the past were bred for work by humans. they carefully selected dogs for the desired traits suited for the type of work and bred them.
Money, in those days, was not even thought about when breeding dogs . Dogs were given as gifts to friends with similar needs and purposes.
Life was them not so mechanised as now. Dogs were more likely bred as types rather than pure-bred . The gene-pool was much wider with less health problems we see in dogs now.
Dogs were never sold in the old days and breeding was driven by desire rather than money.
I think one should take an example from the early breeders to breed dogs.

I have a question I been looking on line for information about my red noise Pitt bull and ever thing i have found on breeding is wait until he is 6 months well he is all most a year. should i wait until he is a year old or would it be ok to breed him now he well be a year in October. I am asking you all because it sounds like CH really know's the facts on pitts. I am new at this and my husbend is the one that wants to breed but i just want to make sure he is not to young. He is my baby and he feels like one of my kids and it wouild kill me if I did something he was not ready for.
