Wanted to get a tattoo on my wrists but wanted in it white ink, how well does white ink show up and does it depend on your skin tone?

White ink doesn't show up well on anybody, it turns mostly a yellow colour and fades quickly. I prefer not to use it on customers.

I have a long tattoo only in white going from each pinky, and meeting at my collarbones.  I've had the huge span of white ink completed by three different tattoo artists on three different occassions, and they show wonderfully.  No yellowing.  Please note that I've had them retouched on the wrist, hand, and part of the finger on each side.

I have medium colored skin, kind of like a light caramel color, and i have a tat  on my wrist with parts that are supposed to be white, but my skin doesn't take to the white. I think it's best on light/fair/pale skin because the skin has less pigment

take a look at BMEzine there are plenty of examples there I think that a white tattoo especially in a bold design is absolutely amazing.

well you've probably already had it done by now :), but for anyone who is just surfing, make sure to do a test spot when you do white, some people (like me!) are allergic

i have all white tattoos and am very fair skinned. they have stayed white and crisp. i've used the same artist as I tend to believe it is difficult to work with...true or not...I buy it. It's hard to see what you're doing and I've been told it clumps easier than colored inks.

What if you had tan skin, not exactly olive but pretty close.  Could a white tattoo on a wrist or other light part of the body be successful? Also, would words be legible?

I just got a star on my shoulder done in all white ink. The people at the tattoo shop advised against it because it will take one more time to get it touched up for it to be bold. I'd also have to pay for it all over again. But I decided to get it done anyways. I am VERY fair and never tan. It's very visible but it did turn out yellowish. It's still in the process of scabbing so maybe when the scabs fall off it will be more white. I plan on getting it touched up but am not as happy as I thought I would be about it.
