They are called the "Mendai'is" not sure of the spelling but in Arabic they're called "Subba" and they exist mostly in Iraq.
They are mentioned in the Quran so is their prophet Dawood (in Egnlish it's David) and their book, the Zaboor.

Yes they are the Sabi but they are not the same as the Mandaeans for several reasons.

They recite from a book of called Zuboor as related in a hadith from Bukhara by Abul 'Ailya. they believe The Prophet (SAW) was one of them and that he straightened their religion. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabians

Sabiyah are you still around? I would love to meet you. Yes the people who read the Zaboor are the Sabiyah Hunafa (Hanif Sabis) and we read the Zaboor more than anything else for all of our prayers, but not just the Zaboor when it comes to study. You can read more about us at http://www.sebomenoi.org

The mandaeans broke away from us before 70AD and we call them Nasaari after their priesthood. We still love them but they don't love us.
