I have lights in my basement and i need to put in an outlet...

I have lights in my basement and i need to put in an  outlet in and want it always hot, but want it off the same line how do i do this.

you need to place the outlet in front of the light switch in the circuit. Be careful so not to overload the breaker/fuse or the wiring.
