We were in Hawaii on a beach in Kauai with a coral reef.  We were picking up the dead coral and my husband picked up a very small shell thinking that it was dead.  It is grayish white in color. I put the coral and shell in a strainer to wash them. Next morning the tiny snail shell had climbed halfway up to the top! How do I find out if it is saltwater or fresh water?  I did put fresh water in a glass and by next morning it had sucked up all the water and is still climbing all around.  How do I tell if it is saltwater or fresh water snail and what should I do with it?
