All I need is the PINOUT for the ROLAND MPU - IPC - T.  It has a 25 pin connector (only 9 pins used) and I want to change it to a 15 PIN connector so that it will be compatable with the Joystick/MIDI port of my sound card.  Please help here.

really not sure that rolands 25 pin connector from mpu-ipc-t external is really compatible with 15 pin joystick/midi because the roland mpu-ipc-t had a roland proprietary 8 bit card type isa-bus on pc's side (labled with same "mpu-ipc-t".

i have the same card, but under win 32, the midi interface still does not work , anyway ?! bought mine in 1992 !

An interesting idea, if you look at the pin definition you might be able to make one for your own.

I just relocated my MPU-IPC-T, and when I locate the card, which is somewhere in my super messy garrage, I'd be glad to send you the pin-out. I think that the unit will only work with it's own card!

PS I'm using it to transfer music from a Casiotone keyboard.

It can be done, as I have done it. Just cut off the 25 pin connector and solder the wires to a 15 pin connector like this:

Black and/or purple wire to pin 1 (+5V)(black and purple are connected together inside the MIDI box).
White wire to pin 5 (Ground).
Orange and yellow wire to pin 12 (MIDI TxD).
Red wire to pin 15 (MIDI RxD).

Then you are done.
The tape and metronome connectors will not work.
If midi in doesn't work, you may have confused pin 15 with pin 9 (as I did!).
If so, move the red wire to the other end of that raw of pins (from pin 9 to pin 15).
