My 13 year old lab has been sneezing blood for two days. What would cause this? His behavior is otherwise unchanged.

My dog had the same problem and I took her to the vet. She had some sort of infection (kidney I think) and required antibiotics.

I think the most common cause of hemorrhage from the nose is trauma, such as poking a stick up nose. I would have it checked out though since he is older dog and infection or neoplasia is a possibility.

There are many cauases of bloody nasal discharge...Trauma yes, but nasal polyps are very common in older dogs.  Aspergillosus infections, allergies, excessive sneezing, and distemper are other options

The same thing happened to my lab. She is 3 1/2 years old and has some allergies, but she wasn't sneezing (that I know of) before it happened.
