I have had this problem my self, have you looked at the headlight switch.Even if their is no problems with the head lights the cause could be coming from the swicth.note power comes into the swicth then splits into light cluster (gauges and interior lights) and head lights, from their double check your ground.if the ground is loose or a connector the circut would have to heat up to get the connection.if a new switch does note fix it start at the new switch then go threw the circuit double checking all grounds.hope this is some help.and amp gauge would be good to determine if you have a direct short.

I have been having the same problems with my 1997 Town and Country LXI. Are there others out there with the same problem? We are getting ready to put it in the shop, but don't know where to begin to fix it. I can bang on the dash and the gauges will all come back on. Also the car won't start if the gauges are out.

another thing is the grounds.if its what im thinking it is. there are two ground wires on the frame rails in the front on both sides just before the bumper connects to them. both of the bolts are 10mm. just take the wires apart use some sandpaper on them to clean them up and before you put them back on, just load them with grease. to keep away from future problems.

I have problem with 2005 Town &  Country. While driving the head light suddenly go off. At night I was able to see the road by keeping the dimmer switch pulled in. This has happened to me more than three times. Local maintenance cannot figure out because it is difficult to reproduce the event. It is down right scary when driving at night.
Any solution?
