If I already have a 4 year old male cavalier king Charles spaniel but i want to get a new puppy, is it better to get a male one or a female one or does it matter?

I think you may want to get a female. Because of the dominance of male dogs you may have more fights amongst them if you get a male. Of course I don't know know much about the temperament of this dog either. If you get a female and don't want to have pups you HAVE to get her sprayed. They would be desperate to get to each other to breed when she is in heat. Hope this helps! Tanisha

Everything I've read about cavaliers suggests that they get along very well with other dogs, and aren't prone to dominance, so it shouldn't matter whether you get a male or a female.

I would like to give a good home to a rescue
K.C Cavalier, I already have a male Cavalier
but he is desperate for Cavalier company. When out for a walk( or a car journey) he cries like a baby if he sees another K.C.C
