3-7 puppies although more or less is common. To many puppies though can lead to a Cesarean section due to the fact that she may tire and no have the strength to deliver.

There will be 3-7 puppies in one litter. But in the first litter there is about 3-5. My dachshund had 6 in her 1st litter. This can change depending on your dachshund's SIZE! But there will be about a 70% that there will be no more puppies than 8-10 on the fact that they are a dachsund.
