Hard disk is dying.

Give the HDD a blunt tap during boot up.
if that dont work put it in the freezer in an anti static bag overnight and try it then.

You might be ablbe to backup some of your stuff untill it dies completely.

I've had stuffed drives magically fixed after the freezer thingy. (dont expect it though)

this is for emergency backup.
Target your valuables and do it QUICKLY.

The drive is 99% dead...

However it might be a power supply or motherboard dying too...

*First try the hard drive in another pc.
If its still clicky bingo.

So there!

If you have any hardware connected to your computer by usb cable, unplug cable and try rebooting computer. Be patient, it may take several trys to reboot. If computer starts, run disk cleaner. uninstall/ reinstall hardware if any more problems
