Remote Shutter Release

A shutter release eliminates the motion caused by your finger depressing the shutter button. If a remote is not available, substitute by tripping the shutter with the self timer camera setting. This gives the camera a few seconds to recover from the vibration of your finger pressing down on the shutter button. This remote also frees you up from peering through the small viewfinder. Now you can see the big picture life-size when you take the exposure.

The self timer allowed me to get into the image while I was hiking alone.
