Data, on foreign trade ln petroleum recently obtained froa theand Czechoslovak statistical*light revision ln the statistics presented ln. 2/ The Bulgarian yearbook reports Imports of petroleum from the USSR and Rumania aB veil an total Imports. Unknown quantities of petroleum have been reported shipped to Czechoslovakia by thc USSR, and It was therefore assumed that the additional amounts imported by Czechoslovakia Indicated In the Czechoslovak yearbook originated In the USSR. The nev data result ln an Increase In the estimate of exports from the USSRmall decrease In the estimate of exports from Rumania. Known Imports from the Free World were subtracted frees the quantities reported in the yearbooks.

The revisions are significant for Bulgaria and Czechoslovakia In certain postwar years, but in no one year do the revisions in thetrade balance in the Blocigure within tbe estimated margin of error (plus or minusercent) of the datatn- The category "unspecified'* under "type or product" represents thc difference between the new totals and those given in CIA/RR
