The Proform Crosswalk Treadmill

The Proform Crosswalk Treadmill is not one of the least expensive treadmills on the market and it promises to provide you with a great workout. The treadmill has a reading shelf that I thought was a great feature but which I have only tried once just to see how well it worked. Parking it in front of the TV is more of an inspiration for me than trying to focus on reading while walking or running.

The deck is extra long on the treadmill for walking and it easily adjusts for incline and speed so I can mix up my workouts. It also has iFit workout cards to help me follow a specific workout. There are 12 preset programs and it's easy to set.

The treadmill has the arms that I use for an upper body workout but I really don't think I am getting anything from it. It is supposed to deliver a total body workout but it really doesn't add anything to a walk around the block except for the cushioning that helps reduce joint impact.

It does run quietly, which I really appreciate. The treadmill has a quiet motor and the pre-treated treadbelt to keep it lubricated and operating quietly. There is also a two speed fan built into the console that helps me keep cool during workouts. An EKG heart monitor is also built into the handlebars so I can get an accurate pulse reading throughout my workout.

The Proform Crosswalk has trays made into the console for snacks and drinks. While I like to keep a bottle of water handy, I can't imagine taking a snack while I am working out. It does have an LCD display that shows all the details of my workout where I can easily keep track of them. It records time, distance, and calories burned along with my heart rat information.

The Crosswalk is recommended for beginners to athletes alike and I fall somewhere in the middle. Although it is more expensive than the models you will find at the local discount stores, it is considered to be a budget buy among the higher quality treadmills. It does offer me the flexibility I like in a workout and provides versatility to mix up my workouts. If anything, I would say it is overloaded with features that I won't use but nothing significant other than the upper-body arms. If I had tried those before I purchased it, I probably would have still bought this model for the quality of construction and the workout it provides.
