Powerwasher Electric Pressure Washer #H2010

Rating: 2 out of 5
  • Currently 2.0/5.0

For some people, purchasing an electric pressure washer is more appealing than messing with a gas one. However, keep in mind that you're limited to the length of the cord, which is 35 feet, or you'll need to attach outdoor extension cords. The power washer is lightweight and easy to maneuver. It weighs 24 pounds, is 33"x11"x13" in size, and has a 30 foot hose and gun. The wheels have been improved to provide better mobility. However, the unit tends to tip over if it's moved too quickly or on rough services. The H2010 can easily be stored and is easy to clean.

The H2010 is advertised as being ideal for home and automotive cleaning. The power washer unit is good for basic jobs, such as cleaning windows, rinsing off your car or the patio. It can be challenging using the on-board detergent tank and sometimes it's just easier to go without soap and rely on the water pressure. Although the power washer is promoted as a "Clink-N-Clean 4 N 1" easy spray selection, for most jobs, the sonic blaster spray is needed. The other settings (jet stream, wide fan spray, turbo) work about the same as the various settings on an ordinary garden hose nozzle spray.

Compared to other power washers, this particular model is inferior. The water pressure just isn't there, which makes power washing the siding on a house, a driveway, a brick wall, a muddy garage floor, etc. almost impossible. Because you have to spray over and over, it takes a lot more water and a lot more time. Perhaps you get what you pay for. The #H2010 sells for less than $200. For twice that money, you can purchase a pressure washer that truly is a power washer. It's interesting to note that several of this model have been returned to the retail store.

I bought one today for $150.00. Renting would have cost $45 for 4 hours, and I needed one for a few days to clean a botched "Nu-Top" concrete surface application on the garage floor (my bad), plus we're planning on other projects later. I used it on the driveway first. I agree it takes a patience, but it gets the job done nicely if you stick with it. 40 years of driveway neglect and now it looks like maybe 10 years - cracked, but clean!

It uses far less water than a garden hose, is more quiet and less stinky than a gas-powered washer. I found it easy to assemble and use - plus I could lift it myself and manuever it no problem. My hubby on business trip is a little concerned that I did not spend more on a macho man machine, but our 19-year old son commandeered it as soon as I was finished and washed his car engine. He liked it too - said it did a good job. It's a lot easier to store than a macho-machine too. I may want a macho machine later (doubt it) but hey, I can get the job done for $150 and sell it for $75.... Mission accomplished!

If you're in the pressure-washer business, or have frequent use plans, this may not hold up well - plastic casing and some other parts. But the machine feels solid and works well for residential use. Um - my 2cents after one day's use.

Default Post script - removing botched concrete surfacing

P.S. It took me several hours but that little machine tore into the concrete surfacing easy-peasy. I can start over now, with an even cleaner surface.
