Fellowes 3229901 SB-99Ci Intellishred

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

The Fellowes Intellishred SB99Ci Shredder is made by the company that created the first 100% jam proof system. This shredder is one of the Powershred line which offers the innovative technology to ensure the shredder works great every time. It is a cross-cut shredder which electronically measures paper thickness so that even tough jobs get powered through. It works due to a sensor that stops paper jams before they happen when you put too much paper in. The Intellishred Shredder will signal when you are near the maximum sheet capacity. It also lets you know if you put too much and the machine will automatically stop to allow you to remove the excess before it resumes shredding.

I have an office in my home where kids can be around at any time. I like the Safesense feature of the shredder that surrounds the paper entry with a sensor so that it automatically disables the shredder if hands touch the paper opening. I will never own another shredder that doesn't have this feature because of the peace of mind it has given me. If also runs extra quiet so there are no interruptions to anyone when shredding needs done.

Some of the reasons the Fellowes Intellishred is so powerful include the solid steel cutters and a powerful motor. All of the parts are also engineered to outperform the competitors. So far, my shredder has been going strong for six months and I expect it to keep doing the same. The crosscut capability lets it cut through more than paper. It can handle credit cards, staples, and CDs, too. It takes care of everything I need to shred in order to ensure top security for my business as well as my personal matters.

This shredder is a lot more expensive than most of the other shredders on the market but none of them have the technology that this one does. If you want performance without having to deal with paper jams, are concerned with safety, and want a shredder that is attractive, well built and easy-to-use, this shredder is worth the extra money. If you only use a shredder occasionally and aren't worried about having to leave it hooked up where children and pets are exposed to it, then you will save on a cheaper model and probably get the capabilities you need.

Fellowes is definitely the leader in technology when it comes to shredders and the SB-99Ci is at the top of the list in all categories.
